Sometimes Bangkok can feel quite chaotic whether you’re a resident here or a seasoned traveler passing through. Perhaps that is part of the charm for most as to why they love to keep coming back. For some of us, it can get a bit much.

So what are we to do? We can’t always go on a trip abroad or even to another city.

As a couple, we love to take getaways within the city to places that don’t feel like “Bangkok”. Usually, that means a few nights staycation at one of the luxurious and romantic hotels or resorts in the city. But we don’t just select any hotel or resort. One thing we look for is whether or not they have a pool.

Oh, do we love nice pools! Even better if it has a bar too.

If you’re like us, a couple who like to laze around the pool together, marvel at the view and sip on cocktails, then this post is exactly what you’re looking for. Here’s what we found when we went in search of the best romantic hotel pools in Bangkok.

Eastin Grande Sathon

The Eastin Grande Sathon hotel has a splendid lapse infinity pool that overlooks upper Sathon road. Unfortunately, there is a new building being made ‘The Bangkok’ that obstructs the view. Luckily, the pool is long enough to get around it.

Cocktail of choice:  Mango power

Romance factor: the dark lounge pods on the edge of the pool are relaxing and comfortable. They are perfect for couples to get some privacy while still being part of the pool vibe.

Mode Sathon

If you look at the first picture of the pool at Eastin, you will notice a pink and gray building. That is Mode Sathon hotel. When we stayed at Eastin we could see their pool as well and we were quite intrigued by it. And you can see why.

Romance factor: the sun loungers and the Jacuzzi style seats in the pool are ideal for couples. You can see that they are placed or made for two people. For a more private affair, there are sofas in the garden next to the pool as well.

W Bangkok

This is possibly one of our favorite pools in Bangkok. It’s not big in size but it is certainly very alluring. The Wet Deck, as they call it, is shaped like an eye but unfortunately, we don’t have a bird’s eye view to show you. But if you look closely, the pool is the shape of the pupil, the loungers make the eyelashes and the curved gray structure is the eyebrow.

Romance factor: where to begin? The pool and surrounding area scream beauty, elegance, and romance.  The blue, gray and white tones create a calm and relaxing vibe. If the loungers around the pool feel too crowded then you can go behind the “eyebrow” and sit in your private cabanas.

On the flip side, the wet deck has also been known to host some crazy pool parties. So make sure they are not having any parties or events before you make your plans to stay here hoping for a quiet time.

Oriental Residence

The only non-hotel property on this list but that doesn’t mean it can’t have a gorgeous pool because it does. Sometimes serviced residences are exactly what a couple needs as they are less crowded, giving way for more privacy. That is exactly what you get when you enter the pool area at Oriental Residence.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try any cocktails at this pool but we did visit their newly opened bar – Oriental Bar. More on this in another post.

Romance factor:  the pool at Oriental Residence is more quaint and private. It has a very peaceful ambiance with different kinds of loungers, sunbeds, and cabanas to spend the whole day.

Hilton Sukhumvit

Hopping down from Sathon road to Sukhumvit, we come to the Hilton Sukhumvit hotel. They have a beautiful infinity pool at their rooftop looking over the upper Sukhumvit skyline.

Romance factor: it seems as if this pool was made for couples because you can see a mannequin couple (and their dog) on the side enjoying their time together. It appears the story behind them is quite interesting. In fact, the entire hotel concept is based on their love.

So which pool did you like the most? How do you find the best hotels with the best pools? We have some tips to take away.

How to find the right pool on your trip?

It’s quite simple. On hotel booking search engines, you have filters to narrow down the search results. For finding a romantic hotel, we like to tick the following:

  • Romantic style hotel
  • Has a pool
  • Has a bar

Also, play around with other parameters such as boutique/design hotels and make sure you select the right location as that can impact the vibe as well. For example, if you like riverside ambiance/view then only look for hotels in that area.

We prefer to use hotels.com because it gives a free night after every 10 bookings. It’s also easy to use with lots of discouns and special prices. To find your perfect hotel with a pool, just pla
