It has been almost a year since we have been to a concert and if you knew us back then, we LOVE attending events and concerts. So when I got an opportunity to cover the ‘Take That in Bangkok’ concert, I didn’t hesitate one bit. Now before I can share my experience of the concert itself, let me tell you a bit about the backstory. Basically, Take That in Bangkok was sponsored by Singha, a leading beverage company in Thailand. They have promoted artists like Maroon 5, Madonna, Carlos Santana and many more over the years. So forgive my ecstaticness when I got invited by them to attend the concert – Singha VIP experience style.

For the ones like me who didn’t know, Take That is a pop group formed in 1990 in Manchester, England. They currently consist of 3 members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, and Mark Owen.

Now I must admit, I hadn’t heard any music from Take That growing up but I had seen Gary Barlow on some shows and being a music lover, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to grow my music base. I am so glad that I did because it was one of the most amazing and rewarding concert experiences I’ve had in awhile.

Unfortunately, Shayan couldn’t join me but luckily there was another female blogger, Gloria from Urbanebloc. Having her there with me really added to the overall fun and experience.

The Singha VIP Experience

Let’s rewind up a little bit to the beginning.

The day of the concert, I woke up with a weird sort of excitement. I guess because I wasn’t sure of what to expect. As the day went by, my nervousness grew right up until the time came for me to get picked up. The pickup and dropoff was part of the Singha experience, so I didn’t have to worry about the hassles of finding a cab. Singha took care of everything!

The concert was being held at the Impact Arena in Muang Thong Thani, which is about a 30 minute drive out of Bangkok…without traffic. With traffic, it could take up to an hour or even more. So to be on the safer side, our pickup was well in advance of the concert.

As the van pulled up and we got in, I couldn’t help but notice how comfortable the seats were. We didn’t mind the traffic so much. When we finally arrived, the van dropped us off right in front of the concert hall – how convenient because I could notice most people had to park far away and walk in quite a bit.

Soon after, we received our hard tickets and made our way into the concert hall. I was amazed at our seating arrangement because I could see every little thing was happening on stage. VIP baby!

As the concert started, I noticed myself moving and dancing to the music. I actually recognized some of the songs they were singing – some because I researched over night but some I had heard over the years. I didn’t realize how good Take That really was.

Singing along and moving in my seat, I thought to myself how this was so unexpected. I guess that’s what made the night all the better. It’s always the unexpected that makes for a good story, isn’t it?

A few hours later, as the band was saying their goodbyes and started walking off the stage, I saw Mark Owen throw something towards the audience. I saw something tiny but flashy fly right at my foot and realized it was his guitar pick! Yes, I picked up a souvenir. This never happens to me.

When the night was over, we just hopped back on our van, which picked us up right outside the concert hall. I truly couldn’t have had a better VIP experience.

To wrap it all together, not only did I have an amazing Singha VIP Experience, I got to go home with a souvenir, and meet new people! What an incredible night.
