Visiting Los Angeles or moving to Los Angeles can be a whirlwind of fun for everyone, no matter their age. There are plenty of reasons this city is one of the most populous in the nation. Let’s go over some of the best activities you can do with your family in Los Angeles.

Walk of Fame

As the old legends go, Los Angeles is known for being the epicenter of film and the arts since the early 1900s in California. Hollywood specifically is known for its many studios such as Columbia Pictures, Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, and Universal Pictures to name just a few.

In 1958, the Hollywood Walk of Fame was created to tribute artists in the entertainment industry. The then-president of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce proposed the idea to celebrate what the film industry has brought to not just America, but the world. The stars to be created on the streets of Hollywood Boulevard were inspired by many local aesthetics from around the Hollywood elite bars and clubs.

Since its initial creation, there have been several updates to the rules, therefore, bringing the total of stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to more than 2,700. Some of our very favorite actors, actresses, and a variety of other artists are represented here. Your kids will love looking through the names to find their film heroes.

Echo Park

For those who are hoping to find something a bit outside of the box that may contain fewer tourists, Echo Park is an excellent location to spend time with your family and friends. There is quite a bit of activity available to you. The Echo Park Lake has swan pedal boats you can take out for a ride across the lake.

Echo Park Los Angeles

You can catch a Dodger’s game while you are in Echo Park as well. Next to Wrigley and Fenway, Dodger stadium is the third oldest stadium in the U.S. Your kids will love chomping on some hotdogs and watching America’s favorite pastime. Nothing is better than a baseball game when you’re looking to meet the locals. And Dodger’s fans are some of the most passionate.

Besides the stadium and the lake, you can find an array of cafes and local businesses that make you feel right at home in the bustling city of Los Angeles. Angelino Heights is a prominent neighborhood with victorian homes that have been standing since the 19th century. You would be lucky to land one of these houses for rent in Los Angeles. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty more options in the city of angels.

National History Museum of Los Angeles

This list wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of the most important staples of city tourism, the extraordinary museums! This museum happens to be the largest museum of its kind in the western part of the United States. In 1910, the local museum association was founded and created “to inspire wonder, discovery, and responsibility for our natural and cultural worlds.”

The museum is home to over 35 million species from Orthopology to Herpetology to Paleontology. All of these exhibits are curated to entice visitors to learn more about the world we live in. It’s a perfect opportunity for learning and fun for yourself and your family.

Los Angeles can be a beautiful place to call home. The coast is breathtaking, there is always so much to do, and the weather is almost perfect. The best way to convince yourself of moving your family out to the Golden State is by taking a much-needed vacation.
